Earlier this morning, we released a new version of Customer Thermometer – which we’re calling version 1.7 and it’s the biggest release of new features since we launched in January 2011!

When customers log into the service from now on, you will notice a tweaked design and some different screens – but the process and everything you are used to is the same – so you can carry on using the service, without having to learn or discover anything new – should you wish. That said – you probably want to explore what’s new. So that you can immediately take advantage of the new features and survey making experience- we’ve listed them all below.

NEW FEATURE: Timed blasts

Again, thanks to great feedback from our customers, including some who have to make a special journey to the office on a Saturday, we are now going to introduce timed blasts. Set up a blast in a normal way and choose whether to send it immediately or at a specific time. Once sent, you’ll then be able to see the blast waiting to be sent and amend it before sending if required.

ENHANCED FEATURE: Thank you landing pages

Whilst only the first click from your survey participants has ever been counted (and subsequent clicks ignored), we’ve never made this obvious to your participants. The survey pages will have been enhanced to indicate should someone click a Thermometer a second time, that only their first click has counted.

In addition, should a recipient make a mistake – we all do it on our iPhones – they can reset their Thermometer response within 30 minutes of their initial click.

NEW FEATURE: Blast ‘closing’

We’re adding the ability to close your blast after a certain time period. The default will be never.

ENHANCED FEATURE: List editing

Things have really changed when it comes to managing your lists… Whilst you can still use copy /paste and upload CSV files, we hope you like the new inline editing – we think it’s very cool.

NEW FEATURE: Master lists

The existing list functionality has not changed, however we are going to be providing you with a new way to create lists – by providing a master list for you to choose your contacts from. This will be displayed as a consolidated (de-duplicated) list of all contacts ever added to your account, which you will be able to sort and select from.

You can add contacts to an existing list OR create a subset of your master to create a new list. Inline editing also works and if you make a change on your master list – it’s of course reflected throughout all other lists.

NEW FEATURE: iOS / Android notifications

We’re excited to release a new alert system today, which will display on iOS/Android devices. You can find out how to use it on our Feature help page.

NEW FEATURE: Custom field Thermometer personalisation

Again, thanks to a number of customer requests, you can now add [CUSTOM FIELDS] into your Thermometer template. For example, you could mention the [company name] … or perhaps reference the [account manager] for that contact in the sign off or refer to [project name] in the subject line.

A new world of possibilities has just been opened up especially when you can now customise who your Thermometers come from, with respect to each individual contact. Find out more here.

FEATURE ENHANCEMENT: Duplicate Thermometers

You can now  duplicate a Thermometer – think ‘save as’.

NEW FEATURE: Display your results publicly!

We’ve been working hard at listening and testing and now you can display your last 100 results as a chart widget on your company’s website – show your customers how transparent you are…

Simply copy and paste a small piece of code displayed in your new settings screen (think YouTube video embed code). And, don’t worry – of course, this will be totally secure and never reveal your account details or any of your customer details. Over time, we will refine and add more options.

NEW FEATURE: Reminder blasts (COMING LATER IN MAY 2013)

By popular demand, we’re going to be introducing a reminder blast function for customers to automatically send their blast again to only those who have yet to respond. This new feature will be integrated into the standard process, but will make it simple for you to prompt forgetful customers and get your response rates even higher.
